Tokens are the virtual currency used to facilitate interactions with your assistant. They are essential for both training your chatbot and enabling it to generate responses. This guide will walk you through what tokens are, how they’re used, and how to purchase more.

Understanding Tokens

  • What are Tokens?: Tokens are units of virtual currency that are consumed when you chat with your assistant. They are used for processing training context as well as generating responses.
  • Usage Predictability: Due to the dynamic nature of conversations and the varying complexity of training, it’s challenging to predict exact token usage. However, based on our data, a real-life conversation typically consumes about 2,000 tokens for a chatbot that’s been trained with files.
  • Running Out of Tokens: If you deplete your token balance, your assistant will become inactive and won’t appear to users. Importantly, it won’t display any message about insufficient tokens to the end-user.
  • Notifications:
    • When your token balance drops below 20% of your limit, you’ll receive an email notification as a heads-up.
    • If you completely run out of tokens, you’ll be notified via email.

How to Purchase Tokens

  1. Access Your Control Panel: Log in to your account and navigate to the control panel.
  2. Locate the Token Section: On the left-hand side, you’ll see a button labeled “Get more tokens”.
  3. Select Quantity:
    • Clicking the button will open a window prompting you to specify how many tokens you need.
    • Tokens are sold in packages of 5,000. For instance, if you choose 10 packages, you’ll receive 50,000 tokens.
  4. Monthly Charges: Tokens are billed on a monthly basis. However, you have the flexibility to cancel at any time.
  5. Monthly Renewal: Your token balance will renew on the 1st day of each month.

Tips for Managing Tokens

  • Monitor Usage: Keep an eye on your token consumption, especially if you notice a surge in user interactions or after making significant changes to your chatbot’s training.
  • Plan Ahead: If you anticipate a higher volume of interactions (e.g., due to a marketing campaign or event), consider purchasing extra tokens in advance.
  • Stay Informed: Ensure your contact email is up-to-date in the system to receive important notifications about your token balance.
